The reason why this mixtape has so much hype is because, for the first time in a very long time in Mombasa, someone is launching a mixtape in an event! We rarely see that in the hiphop scene. I am not saying that people have no mixtapes, there are a number of the like Harry Lee's, that are in the market. The point is, which one of them had a launch, like an official launch party? Dizasta's will be one that should set standards for other rappers who are planning to do the same. The mixtape contains 12 tracks, of which the list I do not have yet. Featured artists include Frank West Mshamba, Petrooz, Fikra Teule, Ohms Law Montana, Kassamoney amongst others. Most of the tracks were Produced by Petrooz at Stantsmastaz record label, some were done at Homesound.
I have had a chance to listen to some of the tracks in the mixtape and I have to say it is something worth buying. It is a master piece with hit tracks from the top to the bottom. Some of the tracks like Haki na Ukweli were launched during our weekly hiphop show at Yellow Ribbon, the Ultimate Hiphop Experience and the reception from the audience was nice.
Though the planning of the event are still on the preliminary stages I
am already exited on the outcome of it. Be sure I will keep you posted
